I cut this armrest from a nice piece of Honduras mahogany....
The profile was traced from an Epiphone ES-295 archtop electric, and a routing template was cut from acrylic sheet......
The mahogany already looks great, and this pic was taken BEFORE the satin lacquer was applied....
Here is the satin lacquered armrest in place....
This armrest is held in place by heavyduty 3M double-sided tape, per the customer's request. He prefered not to have extra mounting holes drilled in the guitar.....
The look is classic and purely organic.....not to mention, it feels great under the forearm, where sharp edged binding can become a nuisance after while....
I can cut a custom armrest for just about ANY stringed instrument. Call me to discuss YOUR application....
